Synthesis, dissemination and capacity building WP 10
Overview
This WP ensures that MATISSE fulfils its full potential to promote the development of ISA within the EU. It ensures: (i) the synthesis of the results of the modelling developments and their applications in the case studies (ii) capacity building among potential ISA users, and; (iii) dissemination of deliverables from all parts of the MATISSE project to the public in printed and multimedia format. It interacts closely with all WPs to disseminate results.
Objectives
The aim of this WP is to advance the quality of use of ISA methodologies within Europe through capacity building among potential ISA users combined with a program of dissemination to the wider user-base. The wider ISA-user and stakeholder groups are being identified and form a part of all other work packages. We will also synthesise the results from the modelling development in MATISSE and the results of the application in the case studies with the objective of making these results readily available to ISA-users in the EU.
The WP is developing and implementing a plan for MATISSE to effectively disseminate the knowledge created in the project among partners and to ISA-users and stakeholders.
Training materials and eLearning opportunities will be developed and training on the use of ISA-tools and methods will be carried out for young scholars, educators, and for colleagues in the new EU-member countries.
Activities
The MATISSE consortium has committed itself to the goal of involving relevant users and stakeholders throughout the project. WP10 is developing a strategy for synthesis and dissemination of the on-going work and results of the project. Training activities, especially in the new EU Member countries, will be an important part of MATISSE.
MATISSE has created a web platform for public information and internal information exchange. Information tailored to particular user and stakeholder communities allows the dissemination of results throughout and at the end of the project.
An Advisory Board has been established for maintaining the focus on the interconnectedness between technological and social trends at the beginning of the project. For inquiries please contact Professor Tim O `Riordan.
Development and implementation of a dissemination strategy for the MATISSE project
The dissemination plan provides for a continuous flow of reports (printed, web-based and presented at relevant conferences) on progress and results of the project.
Training programmes on ISA
A detailed plan for training activities is being developed during first 18 months of the project. The emphasis will be on young scholars (in particular from the new EU member countries) and private sector users.
Development of a MATISSE ISA web-site and web-based portal
Communication flows between MATISSE and external audiences are facilitated by an Internet project management tool that provides: the possibility to discuss topics and decision procedures; a document exchange; handling of meeting preparations and other project tasks. A web-based portal has been established to disseminate the improved tools portfolio and case studies, and provide a contact service for ISA practitioners and stakeholders.
Synthesis of the results of the modelling development and the experiences in the case studies in MATISSE
This task integrates and synthesises the results and experiences of ISA within MATISSE for the benefit of current and future ISA practitioners in the EU and its member states (policy makers and policy analysts). It will provide guidance on the use of the improved portfolio of ISA-tools to be developed in MATISSE. In the first phase of the project the focus will be on the synthesis of the interim results of the model development in WP8 and WP9. In the second phase the experiences from the case studies will be analysed and integrated.
